    Users of the XCS eiConsole Can Convert Flat-File Formats to XML

    With the XCS eiConsole conversions between Flat File formats and XML are handled via the "Delimited and Fixed-Width File" transformation module. As with all the components of the eiConsole the user is presented with a graphical interface with easy to configure panels.

    Using the File Specification Editor, the user can create a file specification for the transformation module to describe the conversion from the flat-file format to XML. The File Specification Editor can directly import a variety of formats.

    As with any file specification, flat-file descriptions interpreted by the "Delimited and Fixed-Width File" transformer are bi-directional, enabling the user to use the same specification to convert from a flat-file format to XML, as well as vice-versa.
