PilotFish offers the HR-XML user the XCS Enterprise Integration Platform (XCS eiPlatform). It is a complete Java framework that supports high volume and secure, run-time processing of interfaces developed using the XCS eiConsole for HR-XML, the IDE developers workstation. With the XCS eiPlatform, any system(s) or services can be integrated with any other system(s) or services regardless of platform, operating system, database or communication protocol.

With the XCS eiPlatform Connectivity, Validation, Transformation, Routing and Delivery, is accomplished through several configurable component Stages. Data is retrieved from the source system with "Listeners". "Processors" then take over and perform Decryption, Decompression, EBCDIC/ASCII conversion, MIME Multi-part Processing, SOAP Unwrap, Validation, and more. The "Transform" component transforms the data from the proprietary format of the Source system into an industry standard or common (canonical) format. The "Router" routes the data to the target system or systems. An additional "Transform" component transforms the data from the industry-standard XML format to the format(s) of the Target system or systems. Another "Processor" may be configured to perform operations to prepare the data for transport to the target system. Lastly the "Transport" component is responsible for the delivery of the data to the Target system or systems in the exact format, transport and encryption method required. What in the past took months, even years to do can now be done, in some cases, in hours, days or just weeks.

The HR-XML 3.0 specification is giant leap forward in the evolution of standards-based Human Resources automation. Built on the solid foundation of the previous HR-XML 2.x releases, the HR-XML 3.0 specification provides a flexible vocabulary for describing the most important data exchanges in the HR process. Version 3.0 unifies previous message schemas into a shared data dictionary with discrete messages represented as BODs (Business Object Documents). HR-XML 3.0 also further aligns the HR-XML Consortium's efforts with those of other standards organizations.

Now that the standard has been released, it's promise must be realized
through real-life implementation.

Verify and Validate Member Messages Automatically

Another component, the Validation Server, enables the automated validation and certification of trading partners' messages to standardize initial and ongoing information exchange. A company that is receiving the same messages from multiple trading partners (for example, an ApplicationAcknowledgement) can "publish" their message formats and rules to allow the trading partners to test their message transactions before going "live".
